MPD Makes Additional Arrest in Northeast Burglary

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announces an additional arrest in a burglary that occurred in Northeast.

On March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:21 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to the report of a burglary in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. The suspects entered the victim’s apartment when it was unoccupied and took property, including a Shih Tzu puppy, from inside.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old Dijon Fendell, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Burglary Two.

On Thursday, March 19. 2026, 26-year-old Yvonne Young, of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Burglary Two and three arrests were made on Friday, March 6, 2026.

MPD continues to search for the victim’s Shih Tzu puppy named “Cruz”. Photos of the puppy can be seen below:

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
